S.T.S. Training

Minnesota D.O.T. required Special Transportation Service training classes are scheduled throughout the year.

Minnesota is currently the only state in the country that requires state-certified training for drivers of special needs and vulnerable passengers and patients. The required classes are Defensive Driving, Passenger Assistance Training (Ambulatory and Wheelchair), Abuse Prevention and Basic First Aid, and are scheduled regularly. Emergicare's trainer is certified by the Minnesota Department of Transportation to instruct all four areas of training. We also can teach the required eight hour refresher course and seven hours of Continuing Driver Education that MN DOT requires for driver recertification every three years. E-mail "emergicare@trailpatrol.org" to schedule a class at your service location.
