Special Transportation Service Driver Training
Minnesota D.O.T. required Special Transportation Service training classes are scheduled throughout the year.
Minnesota is currently one of only three states in the country that requires state-certified training for drivers of special needs and vulnerable passengers and patients. The required classes are Defensive Driving, Passenger Assistance Training (Ambulatory and Wheelchair), Abuse Prevention/Maltreatment Awareness and Basic First Aid, and are scheduled regularly. Emergicare's trainer is certified by the Minnesota Department of Transportation to instruct all four areas of training. We also teach the required eight hour refresher course and seven hours of Continuing Driver Education that MN DOT requires for driver recertification every three years.
News and Notes: 10/7/15 ANOTHER CPR SAVE!
Emergicare Medical Training and the Backcountry Mountain Bike Trail Patrol are working to train as many people as possible in "Hands Only CPR". During the past three years, six (6) people trained by Emergicare have actually saved now FOUR! lives using these skills. We now include an introduction to hands-only CPR in every STS Driver First Aid class we teach.
Private Training Classes at your location are available. We have literally traveled all across Minnesota, from Northome to Grand Meadow, Morton to Duluth, to present STS driver training. E-mail us for further information.
